We appreciate visiting us here on TD Helps, Beverly.
We’d like to take this opportunity to let you know that bank checks (official checks) are valid for the time period based on the escheat law of the State. Official checks may be reported as abandoned property if not cashed within the period of time set by each State’s Abandoned Property Laws. To search the laws on a State by State basis please visit http://1.usa.gov/1r2hnzo. For more information regarding your particular official check, we recommend reaching out to Abandoned Property Department at 800-281-0025 ext. 6414 for more information. If it is confirmed that the official check is still valid, you may visit any TD Bank Store to cash it. You can take a look here for TD locations near you: http://bit.ly/TDStores.
We hope you find this answer helpful and let us know if you have any other questions.
