In reply to Yasmin, Tustin
Great having you and thanks for getting in touch with us via TD Helps, Yasmin. We hope your journey to the States went well!
From your message it sounds as though you may bank with our partners at TD Canada Trust. If so, you might like to take a look at this conversation with our friend Andrea: http://bit.ly/1INsxBf that might best help you deposit this item. We encourage you to reach out to TD Canada Trust with your questions, and feel free to reply there or reach one of their agents at 866-222-3456, 24/7. They can also assist with your transfer questions if you write in or call.
If we misunderstood your question and you did mean to reach us here in the U.S., first we'd like to let you know that checks made payable to two parties can be deposited to an account with both names. If you don't already bank with TD Bank U.S. or have a joint account with us, please keep in mind that joint accounts can be opened at any TD Bank Store with both parties present. Within the U.S., TD Banks are located on the East coast from Maine to Florida. We notice that you're writing from Tustin and apologize for the inconvenience this may cause with respect to your check. You can find a listing of our locations right here: http://bit.ly/TDStores.
If you will be on the East coast and decide to open an account with us, we invite you to view all of our options so that you can find an account which best fits your needs. Our Checking account options are listed here: http://bit.ly/1oXjGgF, or use our Checking Selector at http://bit.ly/1vW1xnU. And our Savings products are listed here: http://bit.ly/1hzzhPT, or use our Savings Selector at http://bit.ly/1sxY9Rd.
Kindly also keep in mind that if the check is drawn in Canadian Dollars, this would need to be deposited in person with one of our Tellers and you may do so when opening the account during the same visit. If you intend to open an account, we also recommend contacting the Store you plan to visit ahead of time to make sure you have all the required documentation with you for account opening.
Once you have an account with us, if you also bank with TD Canada Trust you'll be able to take advantage of our convenient Cross Border Banking options. For more information, feel free to take a look here: http://bit.ly/1ienPN4. When using this service you'll be able to transfer funds between your TD Bank U.S. and TD Canada Trust personal accounts free of charge. If you wish to, please feel free to speak with a Representative from our TD Cross Border Banking Support Line 24/7 at 877-700-2913, who can also answer any questions you have about these services.
We hope this provides some help, Yasmin! You can reach us 24/7 with questions at 888-751-9000 or feel free to reply. Have a great one!
