Welcome to TD Helps and thank you for sending us your question, Michael.
In the event of death of a signer on an account, you would need to visit a TD Bank Store to provide documentation such as a copy of the Death Certificate to remove the signer. In addition, other documentation may be required depending on the State, such as a 'Short Certificate,' 'Certificate of Letters Testamentary' or 'Letters of Administration,' for example. The Death Certificate will provide the date of death if the date-of-death balance for the account is needed.
Please note that as these documents vary by State, we recommend contacting your home Store directly, or calling us 24/7 at 888-751-9000 to confirm what documentation is needed. Click here: http://bit.ly/TDStores to find a TD Bank near you.
Thanks for the question, Michael. Let us know if there's anything else we can do for you.
