Thanks for connecting with us, Jarred. We understand your concern and would be happy to respond.
From your message, it sounds as though your account is enrolled in our TD Debit Card Advance service. If so, please note that this is an optional overdraft service we offer with our checking accounts that may help you avoid debit card declines. If your account is enrolled in this service, we may allow you to authorize ATM transactions or one-time debit card purchases even if you don't have enough money available in your account. We ask that you take a look here: http://bit.ly/1voNBCy for more details and also here: http://bit.ly/Yv0ulC for more specific information. Please note that as this is a discretionary service, a purchase or withdrawal on your account can be declined even if your account is enrolled in this feature.
Additionally, since you mentioned that you wrote a check, please keep in mind that the TD Debit Card Advance feature does not necessarily apply to checks. Our Overdraft Service for checks and pre-authorized debits (ACH transactions) is standard and automatically provided to your account unless you have opted-out of this service. This link may help you understand our Overdraft Options in more detail: http://bit.ly/1lx9Xko. If you have an outstanding check that you'd like to be paid, we do recommend that you contact us to ensure you have not opted-out of this service in the past. And like our TD Debit Card Advance service, our Overdraft Service is also discretionary and items will be paid at TD Bank's determination. Please note that opting-out of this service can result in unpaid items in the event of an overdraft, but will not prevent the account from being assessed a fee.
We do recommend that you speak with one of our Banking Specialists 24/7 at 888-751-9000, who can review your account and these services with you in more detail. Or, if you'll be nearby one of our Stores, feel free to stop in during our extended lobby hours. If you click here: http://bit.ly/TDStores, you can find the TD Bank Store and lobby hours nearest you.
We hope this clears up your question, Jarred! Best of luck to you in the New Year.
