I just opened a new brokerage account but it won't let me set up for ach deposits, why?

Based on your concerns, it sounds as though you're referring to TD Ameritrade. Keep in mind that though TD Bank and TD Ameritrade share the same TD Shield, we are only affiliates. Because of this, we do not share account records across our institutions.
