Welcome to TD Helps, Matt.
Usually, when you deposit a check with a Teller, the first $100 should be made available immediately. The rest of the funds are generally credited to your account on the following business day.
Please note that as a new account holder, if your account has not been open for 30 consecutive days, your check deposits made with a Teller can be held for up to 7 business days for verification purposes.
Additionally, check deposits made at a TD Bank ATM may also have the same hold placed; and please keep in mind that via the ATM, the first $100 of your check deposits may not be available immediately for the first 90 days of your account.
For full information about deposits as a new account holder with us, we invite you to look at our Personal Deposit Account Agreement here: https://go.td.com/1kb17UQ . On pages 38-41 you can find our Funds Availability Policy along with information about when you'll have access to deposits, and especially review page 40, which details the special rules for new accounts.
If you have any questions or concerns about your deposit, please contact us 24/7 at 888-751-9000 or visit a TD Store during lobby hours for help. For Store hours and locations near you please visit https://go.td.com/1f9DSJR.
We have a great day!
