In reply to Stephen, Ottawa
Good afternoon Stephen,
It's great to hear from one of our TD Canada Trust Customers!
Thank you for your business and we appreciate your continued interest in TD Bank.
First, we're happy to let you know that if you were to open a business account with us here in the States, your accounts would be U.S. Dollar accounts, including any lines of credit you might have.
In order to open a business account with TD Bank, kindly note that your business must be registered in the U.S., and the business account must be opened in the State that the business is registered in. Because we're not sure from your message which State you intend to register your business, we'd like to let you know that TD Bank U.S. is based along the East coast of the U.S., and has Stores in the States from Maine to Florida. Please find a listing of our Stores right here: http://bit.ly/TDStores.
If this works with your business, please feel free to review the Business Checking options we offer at http://bit.ly/1uCacgJ, or use our business checking selector at: http://bit.ly/1lGeYmw to make sure you have the best product for you. If you need assistance while reviewing these options, a Business Banking Specialist would be a happy to help via telephone at 855-278-8988.You may also request a call from a Specialist; please click here: http://bit.ly/K9iZ78 to fill in our form and we'll call you within 24 business hours. You can establish your Store appointment as well during your call.
When visiting us at a Store, you'll need several documents to open the account. Since we understand that you are not a U.S. resident, you will need two valid forms of I.D. and a W-8BEN form will be completed upon account opening. You will also need to bring the Tax Identification Number for the business, legal name, and physical address. if your business account is going to have multiple signers, be sure to bring them with you for the account opening process with the same forms of ID.
Please note that depending on the specific type of business you have, additional documents will be needed to open the account. We'd recommend that you discuss this prior to stopping in at a Store, either by speaking with one of our Business Specialists as mentioned above or by contacting your preferred location. The telephone numbers for our Stores are listed at our Location Finder as posted above.
Thanks again for your interest and for choosing TD, Stephen. We hope this information answers your questions. If not, please click on the 'Reply' button to the top right of this message and let us know of your follow-up thoughts. We'll be glad to provide additional info. You can also reach us as mentioned above.
Looking forward to speaking with you again soon and we wish you a great week!
