Hi Carol. Thanks for coming to TD Helps with your question.
As a Canadian citizen you should able to cosign on a mortgage or Home Equity Loan or Line of Credit.
We have a couple of great pages on our website with tons of info for our Cross Border Customers. Click here: https://go.td.com/2feoVPm to check out all we have to offer in Cross Border Banking. On this page, you can click the 'U.S. Home Lending' hyperlink for info on buying and owning property in the United States. Make sure you scroll to the bottom to check out some frequently asked questions. There's several helpful links there about buying in the U.S., as well as info on rates and the mortgage process.
Whether you're considering a mortgage for a second home or you're interested in applying for a Home Equity Loan or Line of Credit, you can find info for both by clicking here: https://go.td.com/2x8tOj2. We also want to provide you a link to a U.S. Home Buying Guide which lays out what you can expect and any documents you may need. You can find that by clicking here: https://go.td.com/2wTZRnD.
Whether you're ready to apply or just want to discuss all your options, please don't hesitate to give our Cross Border Banking Team a call at 877-700-2913. We're available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to answer all of your questions and take your application.
Thanks for considering us for your lending needs, Carol! We hope you're having a great day!
