Thanks for submitting your question today, Moiz.
We are glad to inform you that you are able to open TD Bank accounts with us here in the US. Before we go into details on how to apply, we'd like to let you know that we offer many different types of Checking and Savings accounts, and you can view and compare these here: http://bit.ly/1aDaRqdand here: http://bit.ly/1pJT9I9, Or, feel free to use our selector tools which recommend products for you – take a look at http://bit.ly/1vW1xnU for checking and http://bit.ly/1vW1DvM for savings.
Once you have decided on the best account for your banking needs, as a Canadian resident with a legal Canadian address, you can visit http://bit.ly/1ishIab to begin an account with TD Bank in the United States. Please click on the Open a U.S. Account button on the right-hand side of the page. Use the Open Account buttons to select your account and begin the application process. If you prefer, you can speak with a Representative from our TD Cross Border Banking Support Line 24/7 by calling 877-700-2913, who can also assist you in opening the account by phone.
With either method, we request that you provide your name, street address, date of birth, Social Insurance number and valid identification to complete the account opening process. Please keep in mind that your Canadian consumer credit profile will also be used to verify your identity. Once your account has been opened and after you have made your initial deposit, you'll be eligible to order a free TD Bank Visa Debit card as well as checks for your account, which will be sent separately via postal mail and will typically arrive within 7-14 business days.
If you wish to open a joint account, both parties must be present at the time of the account opening at one of our Stores in the U.S., or, you may open the account as listed above as an individual account, and a second owner can be added at a later time by visiting a TD Bank Store. To find TD Store locations, please visit, http://bit.ly/TDStores. Each signer of a joint account can receive their own TD Visa Debit Card with which U.S. Dollar purchases can be made.
We also know that you were inquiring about transferring funds from your TD U.S. account to your TD Canada Trust account. Once your account is set up here in the States, you'll be able to take advantage of our Cross Border Banking service. Using that, you can transfer funds between your TD Bank U.S. and TD Canada Trust accounts, free of charge. If you wish to, please feel free to speak with a Representative from our TD Cross Border Banking Support Line 24/7 at the number listed above 24/7 (877-700-2913). For more information, please take a look here: http://bit.ly/1ienPN4.
We hope this helps, Moiz. Have a great day.
