Thanks for stopping by the TD Helps Community Patti.
Here at TD Bank we strive to make transferring funds hassle free. We have a few ways that you can transfer or provide funds to your grandson while he is in Canada.
If you would like to have the funds credited directly to his account, you may initiate a wire transfer. In order to do so, you must visit your local TD Bank Store, as international wire transfers must be completed in person. We invite you to take a look at Store locations and their hours here: http://go.td.com/1f9DSJR.
Keep in mind that you will need the name, account number and routing number of the recipient to send an international wire. We also recommend contacting the sending institution as you will also need their SWIFT code. Be sure to request any additional information they may need to successfully receive a wire transfer.
Please know that there may be fees applied for the receipt of a wire transfer. For more details please take a look at our Fee Schedule found here: https://go.td.com/2lbbfGg.
As you are also inquiring about sending your grandson a TD Bank Gift card, you'll be pleased to know that VISA is accepted worldwide for no additional fee. When you make a transaction using your Gift Card, the amount charged will be converted to US dollars based on the current exchange rate. We invite you to take a look at the Terms and Conditions for our TD Gift Cards for specific details here: https://go.td.com/1o97391 (Page 4).
Once your grandson receives his Gift Card, it is recommended to register the Gift Card prior to use. To get started, your grandson may visit: http://bit.ly/2oti0qH and follow the steps provided. Please note that the initial password will be the 3-digit security code printed on the signature panel on the back of the card. Once complete, your grandson can make online and over the phone purchases, as well as check his balance. If he experiences any difficulty while trying to register or if for any additional questions, we ask that he contact us directly. Please dial 1-888-294-2249
Please feel free to reach back out to us, if you have any questions, Patti.
We hope you have a wonderful and safe Holiday!
