Welcome to TD Helps, Vivek.
First, we'd like to let you know that we are committed to your satisfaction as a Customer. If you have any questions or concerns about your banking experiences, we invite you to discuss them with us either at your closest TD Store, or by phone at 888-751-9000, 24/7. Please find your closest Store and lobby hours here: http://bit.ly/TDStores. We value your business and your input and would like to hear from you. We should be able to provide some options for you as well, depending on your concerns.
With that being said, if you still choose to close your account, we understand and will provide you with some options. Since you mentioned that there are a bit of funds in your account right now, you'll want to visit us at any TD Bank Store to withdraw any remaining amount and request to close the account.
If you're able to bring your account balance to zero exactly using another method, such as your debit card, you're also welcome to contact us by phone as above, or via Secure Message, to give us your account closure request. To send a secure message you must first log in to your TD Bank online profile. You can do so by clicking here: http://bit.ly/1eaISlq. On the left hand side, you should see an option to "Send a secure message" located in the “Message Center." Kindly include your account number and specific request when sending your note.
If your account has remaining funds, the easiest way to close the account is via mailed written request. You may request to close your account and any available money will be sent to you by check. You can mail a request with the following instructions:
▪Your name ▪Your account number(s) ▪Your request to close the account(s) ▪Your current address
For your security, please have the letter notarized. It can then be mailed to:
TD Bank, N.A
P.O. Box 1377
If you prefer, another option is to remove any remaining funds from your current location, such as via your TD Bank Visa Debit Card, check, or transfer. If you choose to use this method, once the funds have been removed, please contact a Specialist anytime, at the number mentioned above. It will be necessary to make a specific request to close the account once the balance is zero; please note, the account will not close automatically. Or if it's easier, you can also send a Representative your request to close your account via Secure Message as mentioned above, after logging in to your Online Banking.
We hope this helps, Vivek. Have a nice day.
