Thanks for reaching out to us through TD Helps, Sivenathi! We're sure you'd like to keep track of your account and would be happy to help you.
First, we'd like to tell you a little more about accounts and their statuses. Activity would be required for an account in order to maintain an Active status. If no transactions (deposits or withdrawals) are initiated by you on an account it will be considered Inactive after a specified period of time. Savings accounts are automatically changed to an inactive status after nine months of no Customer-initiated activity, and Checking accounts after six months. These accounts will be Dormant after three or five years of no activity depending on your region or State.
You're also welcome to see the article listed here: http://bit.ly/1ED20S9, which reviews information about abandoned or unclaimed accounts in the U.S. Please keep in mind that once an account becomes dormant, it can be turned over to the State in which the account was opened.
If you're uncertain about the status of your account, we can recommend that you visit us at any TD Bank Store. For a listing of our current locations, check out: https://go.td.com/1f9DSJR. If you'd like to call, we can let you know if you have an account in an active status with us or not and please reach us at 888-751-9000, 24/7. Kindly note that when calling us by phone, if we're unable to locate the account it will be necessary to stop in at any Store for more information.
Just in case any of your funds have been turned over to the State, you'll be able to contact them in order to recover your money. There is no time limit to do this. You may be able to locate the contact information via your State's website, or we can provide you with this information when you call us at the number listed above.
We hope this helps Sivenathi, and please reach out again if you have any other questions. Have a great night!
