I lost a temporary check issue by TD bank. Is there account information on temporary checks issued by TD bank? Is it possible for someone else to cash that check? What should I do?

Thank you for coming to us here on TD Helps, Kathryn. We're sorry to hear that you have lost a check and will be happy to provide you some assistance.
First, if you have not yet done so, we recommend contacting us immediately at 888-751-9000 to request a stop payment on this lost check. You will need the check number, exact amount of the check as well as who it was made payable to (if the info is available). A stop payment request can also be placed if you visit your local TD Bank Store. For Store hours and locations, please check out: http://bit.ly/TDStores. Please note there may be a fee applied for a stop payment. Please visit: http://bit.ly/1cTejgt to view our fee schedule.
Another option you have to place a stop payment is via Online Banking. If you're not currently enrolled for Online Banking, you may do so by clicking: http://bit.ly/1lU2qfY. You will need your account number, ATM/debit card number and Social Security number to enroll online. Once you're logged in, please click on the "Customer Service" tab and then "Stop Payment." You will need to provide the same information online as mentioned above.
We want to inform you that only the individual the check is written to can present the check for payment. Also, we would recommend you to contact our Fraud Unit at 800-893-8554 for more options and information on how to protect your account. You can also view our Security Center here: http://bit.ly/1npPddy.
We hope this information is useful and please let us know if you have any questions, Kathryn!
