Hello Lawrence, we're sorry to hear that you'd like to close your account, however will be glad to answer your question.
We would hate to lose you as Customer due to your move. We do want to let you know that we are committed to being available when you need us. Since you have relocated to an area where TD Bank does not have locations at this time, we do have some options for you to do all of your banking without leaving your house.
As America’s Most Convenient Bank, we’re committed to being available when you need us. We offer fully featured Online and Mobile Banking services; live telephone support 24 hours/day, 7 days/week, 365 days/year. You can always feel free to make a deposit using TD Bank Mobile Deposit. TD Bank Mobile Deposit is available for most iPhone and Android devices and to Customers of at least 90 days or longer with an active Checking, Savings or Money Market account. Please visit http://bit.ly/1e3jiYF for more information about this feature.
If you still want to close your account, we understand and would like to provide options on how to go about doing so.
If your account is at a zero balance, you may contact our 24/7 Customer Service Department at 888-751-9000 and have the account closed via telephone. You can also send a Secure Message after logging in to your TD Bank online account here: http://bit.ly/1eaISlq. Please find the Customer Service tab and use the Send a Message link to submit your request.
If you still have a balance on your account or you have a Business account, an easy way to close the account is via mailed written request. You may request to close your account and have any available money in your account be sent to you by check. You can mail a request with the following instructions:
▪Your account number(s)
▪Your request to close the account(s)
▪Your current address
For your security, please have the letter notarized. It can then be mailed to:
TD Bank, N.A
Your Home Store's Address
Your Home Store telephone Number
If you are unsure of which Store is your Home Store (the Store location where your account was opened at), take a look at: http://bit.ly/TDStores for our Store locations.
Please reach out to us again though if you have any further questions. Have a great weekend, Lawrence!
