I opened a brokerage account about a year ago. Did not get a checkbook or debit card for the cash they deposited into a checking account. Received a slip in my brokerage account statement to apply for a credit card. When I tried to apply, I checked the box so they could find me by social security number and name, it came up and said it didn't work. When I checked it to identify me by my user name and password, it said the same thing. How do you do business with you?

Welcome to the conversation, Paul.
As you are writing in regarding your brokerage account, it sounds like you are referring to TD Ameritrade. We'd like to inform you that though TD Bank and TD Ameritrade share the same TD shield, we are two different entities.
We recommend contacting TD Ameritrade directly for further information in regard to your credentials. Please take a look here: http://bit.ly/2qLmQNa for more information on how to get in touch with TD Ameritrade.
We hope you have a wonderful day, Paul!
