Thank you for reaching us on TD Helps, Charlie. We'd be happy to ensure your trip to Australia goes smoothly.
We offer Foreign Exchange Services at all of our TD Bank Stores. Anyone (even if you're not a Customer) may purchase or exchange foreign currencies. Some of our locations have a limited supply of Canadian Dollars, Euros, and Great British Pounds on-hand for immediate purchase. If you'll ever need any of these currencies in the future, we recommend contacting the TD Store you plan on visiting prior to your arrival to ensure that the funds are available.
For Australian Dollars, you may order this type of currency at any TD Bank Store, and for locations near you please visit: http://bit.ly/TDStores. When placing a currency order, it is important to place your order before 3:00pm and allow at least two business days for your funds to arrive. Please also note that fees may apply for this service; click here: http://bit.ly/1cTejgt to view our current Fee Schedule.
We also recommend placing a Travel Notification on your account(s) prior to leaving. To do so, please contact our 24/7 Customer Service line at 888-751-9000 to have a Customer Service Representative place a travel notification on your accounts. If you are already traveling abroad, you can reach us 24/7 at 856-751-9000 via mobile telephone or by calling us collect with an operator's assistance from a land line phone by asking the operator to dial 215-569-0518. You may also place the necessary notations while placing your currency order at your local TD Store.
In addition to the methods mentioned above, you may also send us a Secured Message through your Online Banking. To send a secure message you must first logon to your TD Bank online profile. You can do so by clicking here: http://bit.ly/1eaISlq. On the left hand side, you should see an option to "Send a secure message" located in the “Message Center." If you are not currently enrolled in Online Banking, you can do so for free here: http://bit.ly/1lU2qfY. You will need your Social Security number, TD Bank ATM/Visa Debit Card, account number, and email address. Once you have successfully enrolled, you will have immediate access to your account(s).
We'd also like to share with you that your TD Visa Debit Card is convenient, secure and rewarding- so you can shop and bank with confidence. You can use your debit card at millions of locations that accept VISA across the globe.
By placing a travel notification, this will help us be aware if we see foreign transactions on your account. Also, please be informed that for your protection we will continue to monitor your card activity even when a notification is set. We also recommend carrying more than one method of payment while traveling, just in case you encounter any acceptance issues. For more travel tips while overseas, please visit http://bit.ly/1gDrDYu. We hope this helps, Charlie and have a great trip.
