I paid off the car loan on 5/18/2017 and have not recieve my title I call state of maine DMV and they said you are holding the title.

Typically, you'll receive your title within 10 business days after the date that your auto loan was paid in full. You will also receive a Paid in Full letter during that time frame. If you still have not received the title for your vehicle, you're welcome to call one of our dedicated Financial Solutions Group Specialists, 24/7, at 800-937-5020 and they'll be more than happy to help.
Please note, if your auto loan is held through TD Auto Finance, we ask that you contact a TD Auto Finance Representative for information about the status of your title. They are available Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 10:00 pm, and Saturday, 8:00 am to 7:00 pm, at 800-556-8172 to help you.
