Hey there Colleen,
Thank you for your message today.
We understand that you'd like to close your account. Before you do, we'd like to take a moment just to remind you that we are very committed to the satisfaction of our Customers and if there's anything that we could do to change your mind, please let us know. You can get in touch with us either at your closest TD Store, or by phone at 888-751-9000, 24/7. You can find your closest Store and lobby hours here: http://bit.ly/TDStores. We value your business and your input and would like to hear from you. We may be able to provide some options for you as well, depending on your concerns.
With that being said, if you still choose to close your account, we understand and will provide you with some options.
If you prefer an email option, this is possible using our Secure Messaging feature available via your Online Banking account. We apologize that we can't accept your request via standard email, as this is not considered secure. In order to close your account via this method, kindly note that your account balance must be exactly zero.
To send us a secure message, you must first log in to your TD Bank online profile here: http://bit.ly/1eaISlq. Then, on the left hand side, you should see an option to "Send a secure message" located in the “Message Center." Kindly include your account number and specific request when sending your note.
If your balance is zero, you can also give us a call 24/7 at the number we listed above for you, and one of our Specialists can take care of this. Otherwise, if any funds remain please stop in to a local TD Store to withdraw them and request to close your account.
We hope this helps, Colleen and please get in touch with us if there's anything we can do to maintain your business!
Thanks again and have a great holiday weekend.
