Welcome to TD Helps, Sean.
If you have an account at TD Bank you may cash the check as long as you have the funds to cover it. If not, you may deposit the check. You would need to be a TD Bank Customer for us to honor this check as it's not written off of a TD Bank account.
When making check deposits with a Teller, the first $100 is made available immediately. If you are a new account holder and your account has not been open for 30 consecutive days, Check Deposits can be held for 7-10 business days for verification purposes. After this grace period, not only will the first $100 be made available at the time of deposit but the rest of the funds will credit to your account the following business day.
If your check deposit is made before 8pm it will be made available the following business day. If your deposit is made after 8pm on a business day or on any weekend or holiday, the next business day will be considered the deposit date. For example if you make a mobile deposit on a Saturday, the deposit date will be Monday, since that is typically the next business day; your funds would then generally be available on Tuesday.
You may also take a look at our Personal Deposit Account Agreement here: http://bit.ly/1kb17UQ. On pages 35-37 you can find our Funds Availability Policy along with information about when you'll have access to deposits.
We hope this helps, Sean. Have a wonderful day.
