Thanks for your question, Jessica. We'd be glad to discuss!
In order to transfer money electronically to another financial institution within the United States, you may initiate a person-to person payment through your online banking profile or visit your nearest TD Bank Store to initiate an Outgoing Domestic Wire Transfer.
For an Outgoing Domestic Wire Transfer you will need to provide the name, routing and account number of the recipient. The cut-off time for domestic wire transfers to be processed on the same banking day is 5:00pm. Government regulations require us to record information for all wire transfers that are $3,000.00 or more per banking day and retain the records on file for 5 years.
There is a $25.00 fee associated with Outgoing Domestic Wire Transfers.
A Person-to-Person payment or Popmoney is one of our newest features on www.tdbank.com. This feature will allow you to send money via text, email or by creating a contact using their banking information. This feature does come with limits on the amount you can send. You’re welcome to check out http://bit.ly/1pADlWD for all of the exciting details.
In order to be eligible for using Popmoney service, you must have a TD Bank personal Checking account, a unique United States phone number, a United States issued Social Security number, and a valid unique email address.
To initiate a Person-to-Person payment, you’ll need to log in to Online Banking from the main website.
- First, you must enroll in the service. To do so, you would select the tab that says Person-to-Person payments at the top of your Online Banking screen.
- Then, you will be asked to accept a user agreement, review the fee schedule and confirm your email and phone number. A text and email code will be sent to the mobile number and email address we have on file for you.
- Next we will request you to submit both codes for verification to complete the enrollment process. Once the enrollment is complete you’ll be ready to send the payment and in the next three business days the funds will be received.
Please know that if the banking information is incorrect, the funds will be returned to your account. If you send funds via email or text, your transfer will not be debited until the transfer is accepted by the recipient.
If you are not currently enrolled for Online Banking and wish to do so for your personal accounts, you may use our self-service option by visiting http://bit.ly/1lU2qfY to begin the enrollment process. In order to do so, you will need your account number, TD Bank ATM/Debit Card, your Social Security Number and your email address. When you finish the enrollment process, you will have immediate access to your account(s).
If you do not have the required information to set up for Online Banking or you need assistance enrolling, you may contact us 24/7 at 888-751-9000 and upon account verification, we'd be happy to assist. If you need assistance with Popmoney, please contact our Tech Support at 800-493-7562, available 24/7.
