Thanks for writing in on TD Helps today, James! Great question, we'll be more than happy to respond.
Since you recently opened a new account and opted to add this to your existing TD Visa Debit card, we'd like to let you know that this account would be added to your card as a secondary account only. This means that you'll be able to access your new account with your existing card at ATMs; however, your original checking account will continue to be debited for any purchases you make with that card.
If you prefer to be able to make purchases with your new account, you'll just want to request a free Visa debit card for your new account. You are welcome to do so by visiting any TD Bank Store, and you'll be able to leave with a card in hand! All of our Stores have instant issue machines to assist you in doing so. For a listing of TD Bank Stores please see here: http://bit.ly/TDStores.
If you prefer, you are more than welcome to give us a call, or request a new card via Secure Message. Using either of these methods, you should expect to receive your card by mail at the address on file within 7 to 10 business days. We can be reached by phone 24/7 at 888-751-9000, or, to send a Secure Message, you'll just need to log in to your TD Bank Online account here: http://bit.ly/1eaISlq. Once you have done so, locate the Customer Service tab at the top right, and then click on Send a Message. Please submit your inquiry, including your specific request and your current address, and a friendly Representative will respond shortly.
Hope this clears it up for you, James! Thanks again for choosing TD and have a fantastic weekend.
