Great to have you here on TD Helps, Dana! We'll be more than happy to discuss what you can expect when making a deposit with us.
First, if you deposit checks with a Teller, the first $100 should be made available immediately. In general, the rest of the funds will be credited to your account on the following business day. Please note that if your account has not yet been open for 30 days, these deposits may be subject to a hold of seven business days.
If you make your deposit at a TD Bank with a teller before 8:00 PM on a business day, it would be considered a deposit on that business day. A business day is every day except Saturdays, Sundays, and federal holidays. For weekend deposits, this usually means that the deposit will be considered Monday's deposit and will post to your account Tuesday.
Please note that for any check deposit made at a TD Bank ATM, the first $100 of your daily ATM deposits will be made available immediately as long as your account has been opened 90 days or greater. Deposits made through the ATM before 8:00 PM will be available on the next banking day. However, deposits made through the ATM after 8:00 PM will be considered the next days' business and will post to your account on the following business day. For example, if your ATM deposit was made on Saturday, that deposit is considered to be on Monday's banking day and will post to your account on Tuesday. If you deposit cash into a TD ATM, the funds will be available immediately in your account (for accounts opened longer than 90 days).
Exceptions can also occur which can cause delays in funds availability, such as larger check deposits. To ensure you're aware of any special rules which can apply for deposits, we invite you to look at our Personal Deposit Account Agreement here: http://bit.ly/1kb17UQ. On pages 38-41 you can find our Funds Availability Policy along with information about when you'll have access to deposits.
We're always available if you have any questions at all. For your convenience, we are available 24/7 at 888-751-9000. Or, if you'll be nearby one of our Stores, feel free to stop in during our extended lobby hours. If you click here: http://bit.ly/TDStores, you can find the TD Bank Store and lobby hours nearest you.
Great chatting with you, Dana! Hope this is helpful and let us know about any questions.
