We appreciate you coming by TD Helps, Jarred and would be happy to help.
As you currently have a joint personal account, both signers have equal rights and access to that account. This means that neither signer can be removed from the account directly. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. If you do not wish to continue to share the account, the account must be closed. Once the account is closed, you may open a new account.
In order to close a joint personal account, only one signer is required to submit this request. The best and quickest way to handle it is by visiting your local TD Bank Store during normal lobby hours with your valid photo ID. To find the nearest TD Bank Store please visit http://bit.ly/TDStores.
We'd like to share with you the many different types of account TD Bank has to offer. We invite you to take a look at the current checking accounts that we have. Click here: http://bit.ly/Wczmq0 for a list of checking accounts and for a personalized recommendation, click here: http://bit.ly/1pJT9I9 to use or Checking Selector. We also offer many types of Savings Accounts that can fit your needs. We recommend taking a look at http://bit.ly/1hzzhPT for more detailed information on each particular Savings Account available at TD Bank. You may find it helpful to check out our customized Savings Selector tool, found here: http://bit.ly/1vW1DvM.
Once you have decided on the best account that fits your banking needs, to open a joint account with your wife, we ask that you both visit a TD Store during lobby hours for further assistance. Please be sure that both signers are present for the account opening process and please bring your photo IDs, such as a Driver's License, State ID and/or a US passport with you to any TD Bank.
If you both are unable to visit a Store to open the joint account, you have the option of opening an individual account for now then adding your boyfriend by visiting a TD Store once they are available. To open an individual account, you may open the account Online by selecting the "Open Account" box located beneath each individual account, you may call us at 1-888-751-9000 to speak with a Banking Specialists, available 24/7, or you can visit us and any TD Store.
Hope this helps, Jarred. Have a great one and let us know if you need anything else.
