Why can't payment be removed from my Gift card without waiting 7 or more days?

Hi there Syd,
We'll be happy to discuss your gift card with you.
If you make a purchase with your gift card and then cancel it before it has posted to your account, the funds will typically be returned to your available balance within three to five business days.
We encourage you to register your gift card if you haven't already done so, by reaching out to our Gift Card Customer Service 24/7 at 888-294-2249. Once your card is registered, they can provide you with some options, depending on the status of the charge. You may be able to have the merchant fax a request, or a dispute for the charge may be filed. Or, the funds may have been released and they'll be happy to let you know if this is the case and your available balance as well.
