Welcome to TD Helps, Shari. We're sorry for any confusion this may have caused, and we'll be happy to help.
It sounds as if you may have used TD Bank's Bill Pay feature to make a payment, but the incorrect amount was entered. When you opt to use our Bill Pay feature, depending on our relationship with your payee, your payment will either be made electronically, or will be sent as a physical draft check.
If your payment is not yet processing, or hasn't already been paid, then great news! You'll be able to edit your payment information yourself by logging right into your Online Banking. To start, please use the link here: https://go.td.com/1eaISlq to log in. Once you have successfully logged in, click on the 'Bill Pay' tab located at the top of your screen. Next, under 'Pending Payments', click on 'Change' next to the name of your biller. Finally, after you have made any changes, simply click on 'Save Changes'.
At this time, if your payment is currently listed as processed, or has already been paid, you will be unable to make any changes to the amount for this specific payment. If this is the case, for electronic payments we recommend contacting your payee directly so that they may further assist you with having the correct amount paid. If your payment was sent as a check, you may also contact us at the number below to place a stop payment, or send a secure message from your Online Banking to make a stop payment request. Please note that fees may apply for a stop payment and you can review that right here: https://go.td.com/2kFZ5mK.
Should you like to place an online stop payment, please use the link above to log into your Online Banking. Once you have logged in, to the left of your screen, you should see the 'Message Center', followed by a link that reads 'Send a Secure Message'. In order to ensure the effectiveness of a stop payment, you'll need the following information handy to provide:
1. Check number
2. Date on check
3. Dollar amount
If you run into any issues with editing or stopping your payment, feel free to contact a Tech Support Specialist at 1-800-493-7562. Specialists are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for your convenience. In addition, you're always welcome to visit a TD Store for further assistance. To find the Store nearest you, please check out the link here: http://go.td.com/1f9DSJR.
We hope this information was helpful, Shari. Take care.
