Hello, Danielle! We're glad to have you on TD Helps and appreciate your interest in an account with us. Thanks for writing in!
If you would like to open a joint account with your daughter, you're welcome to do so. Joint accounts can be opened in person at any TD Bank location. Please keep in mind that all account holders must be present for the account opening process. Because you're interested in opening a checking account and you mentioned that your daughter is 13 years of age at this time, we do recommend that you contact your preferred Store prior to your visit to ensure that they'll be able to help you with this request. Please look here: http://bit.ly/TDStores for a Store listing with contact information in your area.
We encourage you to review our Checking Accounts here: http://bit.ly/1oXjGgF, or use our Checking Account Selector at http://bit.ly/1vW1xnU to find an account which suits you and your daughter's needs.
When you're ready to visit a Store, you'll need your Social Security number and a valid personal identification such as a Driver's license, State ID, or Passport. Acceptable forms of identification for minors include a School ID (preferably with a picture), Passport, US Birth Certificate or Social Security card.
You'll be able to get a Visa Debit card for your account at the time you open the account at the Store. All of our Stores have instant-issue cards and you'll be able to leave with a card in hand. If you are able to open the account for your daughter, please note that a Visa Debit or ATM card can be issued for a minor at the branch manager's discretion.
You may also want to consider the TD Go Card for your teenage daughter. You're welcome to take a look here: http://bit.ly/1j8sgt2 for the details of this type of account. The TD Go Card is a reloadable prepaid Visa card and is a safe, easy and convenient way for your teen to make purchases wherever Visa is accepted. Also check out http://bit.ly/1gRpCay for the TD Go Card Frequently Asked Questions.
If you find that you have any questions regarding our checking accounts, you're more than welcome to give us a call at 888-751-9000, 24/7 and a Specialist will be glad to help. Or, for our TD Go Card Customer Service, call us on 855-219-8050 for assistance.
Thanks again for your interest, Danielle and we hope the information we provided helps you! Let us know about any other questions. Have a wonderful day!
