Although we do send a confirmation message when you sign up for an Online Banking account with us, it would not be possible to sign up using a closed account, as these are unavailable to view via online banking.
Based on the fact that your account is no longer active, it sounds as though the email you received could be a phishing scam. Please feel free to forward a copy of the message to us at: firstname.lastname@example.org. If you find that you are still concerned, you can also visit any TD Store near you at: http://bit.ly/TDStores, or call us 24/7 at 888-751-9000 for assistance.
After forwarding the message to us, we recommend deleting this email immediately. Please also ensure you do not click on any link included in the email nor provide any personal account information.
