We apologize that you're having so much trouble closing your account, and while we're sorry to see you go, we'll be happy to help.
Here at TD Bank, you have a couple different options available to you when looking to close your account, and the methods you may take advantage of can vary depending on the current balance in your account.
If your account currently has a zero dollar balance, you're more than welcome to connect with us directly, and we'll be happy to close your account for you. As you're contacting us from the United Kingdom, we'd first like to recommend that you call 1-856-751-9000 to speak with one of our Banking Specialist. Specialists are here to help 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and by dialing the number above, you may speak with a Specialist toll free. You may also call collect with operator assistance from any landline device by asking the operator to dial (215)-569-0518.
If you're unable to call, we understand, and would like to recommend that you then send us a secure message. To send a secure message, you will first want to log into your TD Bank online profile by clicking here: https://go.td.com/1eaISlq. Once you've successfully logged in, look for the 'Message Center' on the left hand side and select 'Send a secure message'.
If you have downloaded our mobile banking app for your smartphone, you may also use this method to send a secure message. From your Mobile Banking, log in and select 'Send a Secure Message' from the side Menu. We generally respond within 24 hours or less.
Should you decide to send us a secure message to make your request, please be sure to provide the full account number you wish to have closed in your message, as this information will be needed to proceed.
If your account currently has a balance, and you are unable to visit a TD Store location to close your account in person, we then ask that you please mail a written, signed, and notarized request to the following address:

If you're not aware of your TD home Store address or telephone number, you may simply contact us at any of the methods mentioned above, and we'll gladly provide this information to you. In the event that your account currently holds a negative balance, we apologize for any inconvenience as we would be unable to assist you until the balance shows as zero.
Just in case you may be attempting to close a Credit Card that you hold with TD Bank, and not a deposit account, we ask that you dial 888-561-8861 to speak with a Credit Card Specialist, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
