Your options on how to cancel a double payment depends on how the payments were made and the status of the payment. If the payment was made with a TD debit card and this transaction is still currently pending, you may request to have the funds released. The merchant would need to fax a letter to us on their letterhead to the attention of Fulfillment at 1-856-533-1138. They need to include the following:
1. Date of authorization
2. Your full debit card number
3. The exact amount debited
4. A brief statement from a representative expressing that they authorize the hold to be released.
However, if the transaction has already been posted to your account, we recommend contacting the merchant directly to request a stop or cancellation.
You may also contact us directly for assistance if multiple transactions apply to your account. We are available 24/7 by dialing 888-751-9000 or you may visit a TD Store during lobby hours for help. If you are unable to connect via telephone or do not have the time to visit us, we understand! Another option for us to review this further with you is to send us a message via secure message through your TD Online Banking. To send a secure message you must first login to your TD Bank online profile. You can do so by clicking here: http://bit.ly/1eaISlq. Please find the Customer Service tab and on the left hand side, you should see an option to "Send a Message" located in the Message Center. In your message, please include the dates and the amount of the transaction attempted. If you are not enrolled for Online Banking, you can do so for free here: http://bit.ly/1lU2qfY. You will need your Social Security number, TD Bank ATM/Visa Debit Card, your account number and e-mail address. Once you have successfully enrolled, you will have immediate access to your account(s).
