Welcome to TD Helps and thank you for sending us your question, Bob! We'd be happy to provide additional information regarding wires.
Since your child bank at TD, they can visit any TD Bank Store to initiate an outgoing wire transfer to any financial institution outside the United States. For hours and locations near you please take a look here: http://bit.ly/TDStores.
Once at the Store, they will need to provide the name and address of your bank, as well as your SWIFT/BIC code. They will also need the beneficiary address and the account number. As it is going to be an international wire, please review additional information on sending international wires at http://bit.ly/1oowsYN.
We utilize the services of correspondent and/or intermediary banks to transfer funds to banks overseas. These banks might charge a fee for their services, and the correspondent and/or intermediary bank might deduct these fees from the wire transfer amount. For more information on fees for wire transfers, please take a look here: http://bit.ly/1cTejgt.
Bob we hope all of this information was helpful. Feel free to contact us again with any other questions.

but it is from the TD in the US to the TD in Canada. Must a wire transfer be used? Do you not have Visa Direct there for your account holders?

Welcome back to TD Helps Bob!
As you've mentioned that your daughter has a TD Bank account held in the US, she would be able to use our cross-border banking services if she also was a signer on a TD Canada Trust account, otherwise, a wire would be required to transfer the funds outside of the US. If you have any additional questions, feel free to submit a question there or contact our Cross-Border Banking Specialists 24/7 at 1-877-700-2913.
Thanks again for joining us, Bob. We hope this helps and take care!
