Hi Morgan. Thanks for reaching out to us here at TD Helps.
We're very sorry to hear that you intend to close your accounts with us. While we certainly don’t want to see you go, we understand and would be happy to provide you with any information you may need.
As long as the loan account you have with us is not a Moneyline that is linked with your checking account for overdraft protection, you should be able to close out your other accounts and leave the loan open until its paid off. If there is a balance remaining in your accounts, stop in to see us at a local TD Bank Store and we'd be glad to provide you with those funds while closing out the accounts. To find a Store near you, please click here: https://go.td.com/1nq31dc.
If you've already brought both accounts to a zero balance, a visit to a Store may not be necessary. You can simply give us a call 24/7 at 888-751-9000 or send us a secure message through your online or mobile banking. To send a secure message, log into your TD Bank online profile by clicking here: https://go.td.com/1eaISlq. Once you've successfully logged in, look for the 'Message Center' on the left hand side and select 'Send a secure message'. From your Mobile Banking, log in and select 'Send a Secure Message' from the side Menu. We can generally respond within 24 hours or less.
If your loan account is a line of credit that is linked to your checking account for overdraft protection, you may be unable to close the checking account until the loan is paid off. Though, this should not affect your ability to close the savings, which can be closed using one of the methods laid out above.
Again, we're very sorry to see you go. If there is anything that we can discuss with you that may help, we're always here. Please don’t hesitate to reach back out to us here or by using one of the methods above.
We hope you're having a great day, Morgan. Take care.
