Thanks for making a stop at TD Helps, Guillermo. We are sorry to see you go but understand if you need to close your account and can provide you with some options to do so.
As you mentioned you have funds remaining in the account and you are unable to visit us during lobby hours, there are options available.
The easiest way to close an account that has remaining funds available without having to visit us is via mailed written request. You may request to close your account and any available money will be sent to you by check. You can mail a request with the following instructions:
▪Your account number(s)
▪Your request to close the account(s)
▪Your current address
For your security, please have the letter notarized. It can then be mailed to:
TD Bank, N.A
P.O. Box 1377
If you prefer, another option is to remove any remaining funds from your current location, such as via your TD Bank Visa Debit Card, check, or transfer. If you choose to use this method, once the funds have been removed, please contact a Specialist anytime, at the number mentioned above. It will be necessary to make a specific request to close the account once the balance is zero; please note, the account will not close automatically. Or if it's easier, you can also send a Representative your request to close your account via Secure Message as mentioned above, after logging in to your Online Banking.
