Thanks for making a stop at TD Helps, Tanya. We are sorry to hear about your wanting to close your TD Savings account and understand that at times, things change. We'd be glad to help. There are a few options available to you when it comes to closing an account. Prior to closing an account, please be sure to have the account reflect a zero balance with no pending transactions. If you still have funds in your TD Savings Account and utilize TD Online Banking, you may log into your account here: http://bit.ly/1eaISlq to initiate an Online Transfer. After you log in, please select the "Transfer" tab. Once your Savings account reflects a zero balance, you may send us a secure message by selecting the "Customer Service" tab and then "Send a Message." Another way for you to transfer funds is by calling our Automated System at 888-751-9000. When calling this number, please input your account number or TD Debit Card. To transfer using our IVR, please use option 3 than select the accounts you would like to work with. If you prefer to have a Specialists assist you, you may select "0" at any point and after account verification, we'd be happy to help! Our Banking Specialists via telephone can also help with your request in closing your TD Savings account. Please allow 3-5 business days for your request to be process and your account to be closed. Last but not least, if you prefer to sit with a Specialist, you may visit us during lobby hours here: http://bit.ly/TDStores. Please note, when requesting to close your account at any TD Store, this will be effective immediately. We hope this helps Tanya and hope you enjoy the rest of your day!

Thanks for joining the conversation, Katelyn. We're sorry to hear that you will be closing your savings account. We can certainly understand things change at times, and we will be sure to provide options on how to close your account. If you are near a TD location, you may remove any remaining funds and close the account directly. Feel free to take a look here: http://go.td.com/1f9DSJR for TD locations and lobby hours near you. If your account has a zero balance and do not live close to a TD Store, there are several options you can go about closing your account. Your first option is to contact a Banking Specialists at the number mentioned above. You may also send us a secure message via your Online Banking. If you have not enrolled, you may do so by following this link: https://go.td.com/1lU2qfY. You will need your account number, Social Security number, your email address, and your current TD ATM/Debit card. If you run into any problems enrolling, or if you do not have a TD ATM/Debit card to enroll online, please call us 24/7 at 800-493-7562 to speak with our Tech Support Specialists. Once you've successfully enrolled, and after you log onto your Online Banking, on the left hand side, you should see and option to "Send a secure message" located in the “Message Center. As always, you can also stop by any TD Store to close your account. Another option would be requesting your account to be closed by mail. Please mail your written, signed, and notarized request to: TD Bank, N.A. (Home Store Address) (Home Branch Telephone Number) Please be sure to provide your account number so we may issue you a check for the remaining funds in your account as well as your final statement. If you are unsure of which Store is your Home Store, feel free to check here: http://go.td.com/1f9DSJR. We hope this helps!
