Thank you for coming to TD Helps with your question, Eileen. We're sorry to hear that you would like to close your Savings account due to the low balance, but we will be happy to give you the procedures to follow.
If you are referring to your personal Savings account, you can transfer the remaining balance to your Checking account either online (if you are already enrolled for online banking) or via telephone by calling us 24/7 at 888-751-9000. If you choose to make the transfer on line, once the current balance and available balance are both at zero, you're welcome to send a Secure Message via your Online Banking account by logging it at http://bit.ly/1eaISlq and clicking the Customer Service tab and request to close your Savings account. You'll find a link to Send a Message there, where you can enter your request. Please be sure to specify the account number you wish to close if you choose this method.
If you have a business Savings account with a remaining balance, you will need to visit any TD Bank Store near you to withdraw the funds and request that the account be closed. The teller will also be able to transfer the funds from your Savings account to your Checking account per your request. To find out TD store locations near you, please visit, http://bit.ly/TDStores.
Let us know if you have any further questions. We are always here to help. Have a pleasant day
