Hi, want to open a TD bank account from Tallahassee, FL. As there is no branch nearby, I want to open the online account. Further, I do not want to make the first deposit online by giving out the authentication details of my non-TD bank account.
I want to make the first deposit with a check.
Can I submit the check online/through the app (once i have login credentials from TD bank) or snail mail a check to the branch/central office? If yes, is there a deposit slip form online that i can use for the purpose?

Hello Ambu, thanks for reaching out to us today on TD Helps! We appreciate your interest in an account with us, and are glad to assist you.
We'd like to take this opportunity to let you know that TD Bank is proud to offer locations from Maine to Florida! We're glad to assist you in opening an account using any method which is convenient for you, and if you need our assistance in person, we're also available.
To open a new Checking Account online, we encourage you to review our checking products here: http://bit.ly/1oXjGgF, or use our Checking Account Selector at http://bit.ly/1vW1xnU. And to begin your application, you may use the Open Account button at these links to start, or please click here: http://bit.ly/1uoX1R4.
To start your application, you'll need your Social Security number and a valid personal identification such as a Driver's license, State ID, or Passport. If you open your account online, you can make your first deposit using a debit or credit card (Visa or MasterCard), or fund the account with a transfer from another deposit account you may have, using the routing and account numbers. You're also welcome to make your first deposit in person, and please see our Store Locator at http://bit.ly/TDStores to find your closest Store.
If you'd prefer to open your account by phone, or have any questions about our checking accounts or the opening process, feel free to give us a call 24/7 at 1-888-751-9000 to speak with one of our dedicated Customer Service Representatives. They will be more than happy to help you, and if you open the account by phone, your Representative will be happy to discuss convenient deposit options for you.
And, you're also welcome to open your new account in person. Please see the link above to search for the convenient TD Bank Store locations near you.
If you prefer to mail in your check deposit, you may use our Banking by mail option at the address below:
TD Bank, N.A. ME2-001-033 P.O. Box Number 1190 Lewiston, Maine 04243
The P.O. Box is checked daily and transactions are posted the same day.
Before mailing in your check, we recommend visiting http://bit.ly/1kb17UQ to learn more about our funds availability policy starting on page 38. Also keep in mind that the TD Bank is not responsible for items lost in mail. Here are some additional tips to consider prior to mailing your deposit:
- Cash should not be sent through the mail - Payee of the check and name on deposit ticket should be the same - Checks should be endorsed (and restricted "for deposit only") - Multiple checks should be listed and a total of the deposit listed - Enclose the deposit ticket, not the carbon copy - If using a blank deposit ticket, please write the account number clearly - Do not staple transactions
Since you mention using our mobile app to make your deposit, we're glad to inform you we do offer Mobile Banking and Mobile Deposit services. Please note that TD Bank Mobile Deposit is available for most iPhone and Android devices and to customers of at least 90 days or longer with an active checking, savings or money market account. Once your account is active for this time, you must also be enrolled for Online Banking to do so. Feel free to connect with our Banking Specialists at the number listed above, and we'll be glad to help get you access online once your account is set up.
We hope these are the instructions you were looking for, Ambu! Thanks again for your visit and stop by again anytime!
