Hi Darine, we're glad to hear you're thinking of starting a CD with your child and we're happy to help!
When opening a CD for a minor an adult will have to be listed on the account as well. With that being said, the adult opening the account will need their Social Security number and photo I.D. (driver's license, State ID, or Passport) and acceptable forms of identification for minors includes; School ID, Passport, US Birth Certificate or Social Security card.
When opening any of the CD accounts listed here: http://bit.ly/1mLvOG8, there is a minimum amount of $250 that is required to open the account with. This requirement is both for existing Customers and new-to-bank Customers.
To open the account you may visit any TD Store location. To find a TD near you, please view our Store locator here: http://bit.ly/TDStores.
We hope this helps, Darine and please let us know if you have any additional questions.
