Once you've decided on which account is best for you, you can open the account via the internet by clicking on the "Open Account" box; which will be listed at the bottom of each account details. To get started, you'll need the following: Your Social Security number, One of the following: Driver's license, State ID, or Passport. To make a first deposit online, you may use checking account information from another financial institution, debit card linked to an account from another financial institution, a credit card (Visa or MasterCard) or you can stop by your local TD Bank Store to make a deposit.
There are 5 steps with series of questions you will need to fill in during this account opening process. The first step is the "Account Info". You will need to input the account type you are looking to open and whether you want a TD ATM/Visa Debit card or not. The second step is your "Personal Info" which is where you authenticate your identity so you will need your Social Security number and your Driver's license, state ID, or Passport for this portion. Step three is the "Disclosures" in which you will be requested to view and agree to. Step four is your "First Deposit". If you have a current account with TD Bank or another institution, you can transfer funds into the new account for the first deposit. Finally step five is the "Finish" portion. Review your information and submit your application. If you run into any problems during the process or if you prefer, you could also give us a call at 888-751-9000 to speak with a Customer Service Representative.
