Welcome to TD Helps, Naveed.
If your daughter is a minor, you may wish to open a joint account with her. Joint Accounts can be opened in person at any TD Bank location. Please keep in mind that all account holders must be present for the account opening process. Because you're interested in opening a checking account for your daughter, we do recommend that you contact your preferred Store prior to your visit to ensure that they'll be able to help you with this request. Please look here: http://bit.ly/TDStores for a Store listing with contact information in your area.
We encourage you to review our Checking Accounts here: http://bit.ly/1oXjGgF, or use our Checking Account Selector at http://bit.ly/1vW1xnU to find an account which suits you and your daughter's needs. For more information on Savings account you may click: http://bit.ly/1o4wfc4. For a personalized recommendation, you may look here for our Checking Account Selector: http://bit.ly/1vW1xnUand here for our Savings Account Selector: http://bit.ly/1sxY9Rdj.
When you're ready to visit a Store, you'll need your Social Security number and a valid personal identification such as a Driver's license, State ID, or Passport. Acceptable forms of identification for minors include a School ID (preferably with a picture), Passport, US Birth Certificate or Social Security card.
You'll be able to get a Visa Debit card for your account at the time you open the account at the Store. All of our Stores have instant-issue cards and you'll be able to leave with a card in hand. If you are able to open the account for your daughter, please note that a Visa Debit or ATM card can be issued for a minor at the branch manager's discretion.
The TD Go Card is easy to fund. Money may be loaded onto the card by the Account Owner using any Visa or MasterCard, 24 hours a day 7 days a week via the TD Go Card website http://bit.ly/1wibSus. A $1 load fee applies; for a full list of fees, please see the Terms & Conditions http://bit.ly/1eSK0Du or Account Guide http://bit.ly/1zrVD2w. Account Owners and Cardholders may also set up a free direct deposit from your employer(s). The Account Owner may also invite family and friends to load funds to the card. For detailed instructions, visit us online or call 855-219-8050.
The funds will generally be available the same business day when using the Visa or MasterCard method. Funds loaded to the card using direct deposit will generally be available on the business day we receive the transfer. Please keep in mind an ATM only card cannot be used to fund a TD Go Card.
If you are interested in getting a card for your teen or if you would like to send one as a gift, you can do so by visiting this link: http://bit.ly/1jWLKzt to take you to the "Enrollment" page. Please select the "Enrollment Type" and select "Continue". You will then be asked to create your profile and a series of questions will be asked. Once you've created a profile, you will then be able to add your teen by selecting the "Adding a Teen" button. You will need to provide the teen's information and fund the card.
We hope this information helps, Naveed. Have a great week.
