Thank you for joining us here at TD Helps, Surjit. You came to the right place for information.
First of all, we would like to thank you for considering TD Bank for your banking needs and we are happy to help provide some guidance on what is needed to open a business account. Our complete business product offering is designed to meet your needs and to make your business banking hassle-free. We have products with all the features you need to help you achieve your financial goals.
In order to open a business account, the account signer(s) must visit a TD Bank Store and be present for the account opening process along with the following documents: a valid photo I.D. (Driver's License, Passport, Military I.D. etc.) and Social Security number. For a non-resident aliens opening a business account, you will need two valid forms of ID and a W-8Ben must be completed during the account opening process. Also, be sure to bring the Tax Identification Number for your business. To find out TD store locations near you, please visit, http://bit.ly/TDStores.
Prior to visiting a Store, we suggest reviewing the types of business accounts. If you take a look here, http://bit.ly/1lWgAhe , the link shows the types of business Checking accounts that we offer. Our web page can even make a selection based on your needs with the Business Checking Selector tool: http://bit.ly/1lGeYmw. If you are looking to open an LLC, additional documents will be needed. One of the documents listed above is required for account opening but you can bring more than one if you desire: The documents used to form and register your business, the fictitious name registration or the Operating Agreement. Additionally, you will also need to bring documentation of your LLC Resolution.
If you are looking to open a Non-Profit Organization and it is Incorporated, please include the additional following information: State Website Report, Filed or Certified Business Formation Documents, or Certificate of Good Standing/Existence. Additionally, you will need to bring the Corporate Resolution documents. If your Non-Profit Organization is not incorporated, no additional documentation is required for this account type.
We hope this information answers all your questions, Surjit. Please let us know if should you have any further questions. Have a great weekend!
