Hi Jingwei, thanks for connecting with us today. We'd be glad to help with any transfer or direct deduction questions that you have.
A Money Market account has check-writing capability just like a Checking account, which means yes –
you can setup a direct deduction from it. Please be aware though that Savings & Money Market accounts do not allow for an unlimited amount of transactions like Checking accounts offer. They are regulated by the governmental Regulation D, a restriction which limits the amount of pre-authorized debits per statement cycle. This regulation does not restrict any deposits made into a savings account, only debits or transfers out of the account. The limitations on Money Market and Savings accounts include up to 6 pre-authorized debits/transfers (overdraft protection, transfer to checking account, transfer to any other account) per statement period. Please review pages 6 & 7 of our Personal Deposit Account Agreement here http://bit.ly/1kb17UQ for more information about this regulation. Checking accounts are not restricted by this regulation.
Please see our current Personal Fee Schedule to confirm any fees that may be assessed from this regulation (found under the 'Other' category here: http://bit.ly/1cTejgt).
When making a payment it is important to use the correct routing number, account number and account type. We're happy to provide you with information on TD Bank routing numbers – they are based upon the TD Store location where you originally opened your account. For a list of our current Routing Numbers please check out http://bit.ly/1cmRPoF. If you're not certain which TD Store you opened your account at, your Routing Number will also be listed on the bottom of your checks. You can view an example here: http://bit.ly/1qH2i2K. Otherwise, you're also welcome to give us a call 24/7 at 888-751-9000 to confirm your routing number.
We hope this information helps Jingwei. Have a great weekend!
