We appreciate you stopping by TD Helps, Colleen! We understand your concern and would be happy to answer your question.
If you had to close your debit card due to unauthorized activity, first please accept our apologies for any inconvenience that may have been for you. We are glad to let you know that replacing a debit card will not affect your account or routing number. These will remain the same even though your debit card number has changed.
We would like to remind you that if you had any automatic payments associated with your debit card (for example, a gym or movie membership) we advise you to contact these companies directly to provide your new card information. If you're unsure whether your automatic payments are withdrawn via your account or debit card number, don't worry, we'll be happy to help you. You're welcome to connect with one of our Banking Specialists 24/7 at 888-751-9000, and we can check out the specifics of your transactions during your call.
We hope this puts you at ease, Colleen! We'll be here if you have any other questions so don’t hesitate to reply. Have a great one.
