If you'd like to verify the status of the account that a check is drawn on, you can call one of our Customer Service Representatives 24/7 at 888-751-9000. Please note that, TD Bank will not be able to verify if the funds are available in the account for anyone not listed as an account signer.
Typically, we'd recommend you to visit a TD Bank Store to deposit or cash the check. As you've mentioned that you're writing in from Oregon, we understand you may not be able to do so at this time. In this case, if possible we'd recommend that the person writing the check verify the funds for you by contacting a Banking Specialist at the above number with you on the line.
If this isn't a possibility, we encourage you to speak with your financial institution regarding a deposit of the check and their returned check policies, including any fees they may assess.
