Thanks for visiting TD Helps with your question, Sam and we'd be happy to discuss account options with you.
Here at TD Bank, we offer an account specifically for minors where the monthly maintenance fee is waived until they turn 18 years of age; as long as the minor is the Primary on the account. The TD Young Savers account is designed to help young people learn the value of saving. An ATM card can be obtained for this account type as well. Please click: http://bit.ly/SavingsCmpre for more information our Savings accounts. Please keep in mind that you will need to provide a valid form of identity such as a State License, State ID or Passport. Acceptable forms of identification for minors include; School ID (preferably with a picture), Passport, US Birth Certificate or Social Security Card. Since your daughter needs to present proof of ID, the account can only be opened at a TD Bank location. Click here: http://bit.ly/TDStores to find a TD Bank near you.
Once your child turns 13 years of age, you may be interested in the TD Bank GO Card. The TD Bank GO Card is a great way to help your teen manage their funds and also for you to keep track of their spending.
The TD Go Card is easy to fund. Money may be loaded onto the card by the Account Owner using any Visa or MasterCard, 24 hours a day 7 days a week via the TD Go Card website http://bit.ly/1wibSus. A $1 load fee applies; for a full list of fees, please see the Terms & Conditions http://bit.ly/1eSK0Du or Account Guide http://bit.ly/1zrVD2w. Account Owners and Cardholders may also set up a free direct deposit from your employer(s). The Account Owner may also invite family and friends to load funds to the card. For detailed instructions, visit us online or call 855-219-8050.
Funds can be transferred to a TD Go Card using a debit or credit card. The funds will generally be available the same business day using one of these methods. Funds loaded to the card using direct deposit will generally be available on the business day we receive the transfer. Please keep in mind an ATM card cannot be used to fund a TD Go Card.
If you are interested in getting a card for your teen or if you would like to send one as a gift, you can do so by visiting this link: http://bit.ly/1jWLKzt to take you to the "Enrollment" page. Please select the "Enrollment Type" and select "Continue". You will then be asked to create your profile and a series of questions will be asked. Once you've created a profile, you will then be able to add your teen by selecting the "Adding a Teen" button. You will need to provide the teen's information and fund the card.
We hope you find this information helpful and feel free to look around if you have any other questions.
