That's a great question, Agnes! We hope you enjoy your time in Europe and will be glad to provide you with further details regarding using your debit card abroad.
We are happy to say that TD Bank does not charge any kind of foreign transaction fees when using your debit card outside of the United States. In fact, you can use your TD debit card anywhere that VISA is accepted worldwide, as long as the ATM machine you're using has the VISA or Plus logo. As you already mentioned in your question, non-TD ATM fees still may apply. For more information on the Fee Schedule, please take a look here: http://bit.ly/1cTejgt.
Additionally, we also recommend carrying more than one method of payment while traveling, just in case you encounter any acceptance issues. For more travel tips, please visit http://bit.ly/1gDrDYu.
If you need to contact us while you're in Europe you may contact us by sending us a Secure Message or call us from outside the United States via phone at 1-856-751-9000, or collect with operator assistance from a land line phone by asking the operator to dial 1-215-569-0518. For your convenience, we are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The US country code is 1-011.
We hope this helps, Agnes and safe travels to you.
