Hi Smith! We understand that being far from a physical Store location may seem difficult, but TD Bank has options in place that can make it a lot easier than it seems!
Since your first question was about withdrawing funds while in Roanoke, we'll start there. When a non-TD Bank ATM is used, a fee can be charged. This fee is separate from any fee the other bank or ATM company may charge. Whenever possible, we recommend using a TD Bank ATM for your withdrawal. But since we know that there are times when this just isn't possible, especially when you don't live near a TD Bank Store, we want to provide you with options to avoid these fees.
Many stores now offer you the option of receiving cash back when you make a purchase. TD Bank does not charge a fee for this service. The amount you take back in cash is simply added to your total purchase.
You may also be able to use your TD Bank Visa Debit Card to do a cash advance with a bank teller at a different financial institution. To do this, visit a bank there in Roanoke and request to do a Visa Cash Advance with the teller. Your card will be used to withdraw funds and that transaction should post to your account as a Visa purchase, rather than a withdrawal. While TD Bank does not charge a fee for doing this type of transaction, we recommend confirming with the bank that you use if they charge a fee to perform this service.
Finally, we want to make you aware that with some of our accounts, non-TD Bank ATM fees are waived as a benefit of that account type. We may even waive the fees charged by the ATM company! To check out all of our checking accounts for an account with this benefit that might also fit your needs, please click here: https://go.td.com/2tX7kAh. To review our savings accounts, please click here: https://go.td.com/2bSlkVn. If you choose to change your account type, we'd be happy to help. It’s a quick change that will not affect your account or debit card number. Just give us a call 24/7 at 888-751-9000 or stop in to see us at any of our Stores before your move. To find one near you, please click here: https://go.td.com/1nq31dc. You can also send us a secure message with your request through your online or mobile banking. To send a secure message, log into your TD Bank online profile by clicking here: https://go.td.com/1eaISlq. Once you've successfully logged in, look for the 'Message Center' on the left hand side and select 'Send a secure message'. From your Mobile Banking, log in and select 'Send a Secure Message' from the side Menu. We can generally respond within 24 hours or less.
We also want to let you know about some other options we have in place to help our Customers bank from a distance.
For deposits, you have the options of mobile and ATM deposits. If you need to deposit checks or even cash, you can use any Cirrus or PLUS shared deposit ATM in the United States. There may be a delayed availability on these deposits. Generally the funds are made available 5 business days after the deposit. You can find info about funds availability on pages 41-44 of the Personal Deposit Account Agreement online. Look to page 41 for specific info on ATM deposits. You can find this account agreement here: https://go.td.com/2nf0JAI.
If it’s a check you need to deposit, you can use the mobile deposit feature in our app from your phone or tablet. To do this, first log into the app with your online credentials and then select the camera icon. You'll be asked to photograph the front and back of the check and confirm the dollar amount. Once submitted, you can expect normal deposit availability which could be as soon as the next business day, if deposited prior to 8PM. You'll also find info about mobile deposit availability in the link above.
Please know that we're always here to help. If you need a debit card or forms, they can be requested and mailed directly to you in Roanoke. We can often even expedite or overnight certain requests. Usually a visit to a TD Bank Store isn't necessary at all.
We hope this helps, Smith. If you have any questions at all, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at the number above. We're always available.
We wish you the best of luck in your upcoming move. Have a great weekend, Smith!
