Thanks for coming by TD Helps today, Laura! We are sorry to hear that you want to close your TD Bank account.
We'd like to let you know that we are committed to your satisfaction as a Customer. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us 24/7 at 888-751-9000 or stop by any of the TD Store locations in your area. To find out TD Store locations near you, please visit: http://bit.ly/TDStores.
If you still choose to close your account, if you have a Personal account with a remaining balance, we'd recommend visiting any TD Bank Store near you to withdraw the funds and request that the account be closed. Please visit the above link to find a convenient location for you.
If the balance in your account is already zero, or you have a remaining TD Bank deposit account that funds can be transferred to, you may also call us 24/7 by dialing 888-751-9000. Or, you're welcome to send a Secure Message via your Online Banking account by logging it at http://bit.ly/1eaISlq and clicking the Customer Service tab. You'll find a link to Send a Message there, where you can enter your request. Please be sure to specify the account number you wish to close if you choose this method.
You also have the option to close the account via a mailed written request. You may request to close your account and have any available money in your account be sent to you by check. You can mail a request with the following instructions:
▪Your account number(s)
▪Your request to close the account(s)
▪Your current address
For your security, please have the letter notarized and mailed to your Home Store. You Home Store is the TD location you visited to open your Account. If you are unsure of which Store is your Home Store, take a look at http://bit.ly/TDStores.
Please note; an account closing request generally takes 2-3 business days to be completed. Lastly, you'll need to visit a TD Bank Store location to close out a business account.
We hope this information is useful to you and please let us know if we can answer any additional questions, Laura. Enjoy your day and take care!
