Can I close it online? The phone will be very expensive for me. Please let me know.

First, we'd like to let you know that we are committed to your satisfaction as a Customer. If you have moved outside the United States, we do have some options for you to do all of your banking without the need to visit a TD Bank Store. Please note that we offer fully featured online and mobile banking services and live telephone support available 24 hours/day, 7 days/week, 365 days/year.
If you still choose to close your account, we understand and can help with some options from here.
If your account currently has a zero balance, you may request to close it with a Representative by phone or via Secure Message from within your Online Banking account. Please contact us from outside the United States via phone at 1-856-751-9000, or collect with operator assistance from a land line phone by asking the operator to dial 1-215-569-0518. To communicate with us via secure message, please log in at our full website here: http://bit.ly/1eaISlq, click on the Customer Service tab, and then use the Send a Message link to talk with us about your request.
If the account has remaining funds, we recommend removing any remaining funds from your current location, such as via your TD Bank Visa Debit Card, check, or transfer. If you choose to use this method, once the funds have been removed, please contact a Specialist 24/7 at the number above, or again, via message. It will be necessary to make a specific request to close the account once the balance is zero, and please note, the account will not close automatically.
If your account has remaining funds, another way to close the account from abroad is via mailed written request. You may request to close your account and any available money will be sent to you by check. You can mail a request with the following instructions:

For your security, please have the letter notarized. It can then be mailed to: TD Bank, N.A P.O. Box 1377 Lewiston, Maine 04243-1377
If it happens that your account is overdrawn at this time, we recommend that you get in touch with us by phone or message as above so that we can review the account with you and provide some options from your current location.
