Hi my name is Jacqueline and I was out of state for a while and I had just received my mail. I wanted to close my account for the time being as I am unemployed and I am hoping to re open an account when I find employment. Also, I was hoping that any fees be waived as I cannot afford to make any payments.

First, we'd like to let you know that we are committed to your satisfaction as a Customer. If you have any questions or concerns about your banking experiences, we invite you to discuss them with us at a TD Store. If you still want to close your account and you have a current balance, we ask that you visit us at any TD Store for further assistance regarding your request. When you visit a TD Store to request to close your account, all you need to bring with you is a valid photo ID (Driver's License, Passport, Military I.D. etc.). Please note, because there is a current balance, please let the Specialists know and they will assist you with withdrawing the fund than assist with your initial request.
If your account has a zero balance, there are several options you can go about closing your account. Your first option is to contact Customer Service and our Banking Specialists at 1-888-751-9000, available 24/7. You can also send us a secure message via your Online Banking. If you have not enrolled, you can do so for free by following this link: http://bit.ly/1lU2qfY. You will need your account number, Social Security number, your email address and your current TD ATM/Debit card. If you run into any problems enrolling or if you do not have a TD ATM/Debit card to enroll online, please call us at the number above to speak with our Banking Specialists. Once you've successfully enrolled and after you log onto your Online Banking, on the left hand side, you should see and option to "Send a Secure Message" located in the “Message Center. As always, you can also stop by any TD Store for this request.
Another option would be requesting your account to be closed by mail. Please mail your written, signed, and notarized request to:

(Home Branch Telephone Number)
Please be sure to provide your account number so we may issue you a check for the remaining funds in your account as well as your final statement. If you are unsure of which Store is your Home Store, take a look at the Store Search link above for locations or please contact our Customer Service line at the telephone number listed above.
Lastly, you have mentioned that you'd like to have some fees waived.
