Thank you, Nancy for reaching out to us at TD Helps and thinking of us to open an account. We're happy to help!
We offer many different types of Checking accounts. Prior to opening an account we encourage you to view and compare our checking accounts, visit http://bit.ly/1aDaRqd or check out our Checking Selector Tool http://bit.ly/1vW1xnU for help selecting a checking account that is the best fit for you.
There are several ways to open an account with us:online, over the phone, or in person. Once you have opened an account, you will obtain an ATM/Debit Card and have access to the mobile app from any iPhone, Andriod or Blackberry device. Please keep in mind that you must have an account for a period of 90 days prior to making the first mobile deposit.
Once you've decided on which account is best for you, you can open the account via the internet by clicking on the "Open Account" box which will be listed at the bottom of each account details. To get started, you'll need the following: Your Social Security number and ID (driver's license, State ID, or Passport). To make a first deposit online, you may use a debit card linked to an account from another financial institution, a credit card (Visa or MasterCard) or you can stop by your local TD Store to make a deposit.
If you prefer to open it over the phone, please call Customer Service at 1-888-751-9000, available 24/7, and we will be happy to help you open the account. Once the account is opened, you will have 30 business days to make your first deposit.
Additionally, you have the option of visiting us at your local TD Store to open an account. If you choose this option, you will need to make an initial deposit to the account you selected. There would not be a minimum requirement to open the account; however, some accounts have requirements in order to have certain fees waived. We would encourage you to review the link above prior to visiting a Store. For hours and locations near you, take a look here: http://bit.ly/TDStores.
Thanks again for visiting us, Nancy. Have a lovely day!
