Welcome to TD Helps this morning, Charli.
This is a great question, and we'll be more than happy to help!
At this time, Debit Cards are only issued when you open either a Checking or Savings account; however, if you're interested in doing so, you're more than welcome to open an account with us, and receive a Debit Card that same day!
We offer many different types of accounts to suit everyone's needs. If you believe that a Checking account would be best for you, feel free to check out the link here: https://go.td.com/2hbuGjJ for a listing of our current Checking accounts. If you were interested in a Savings account, feel free to use this link: https://go.td.com/2bSlkVn. If you're having trouble deciding, don't worry! We offer a Selector Tool here: https://go.td.com/2sx4N2E which will help you by making a personalized recommendation based on your needs.
Once you're ready to open your account, we have multiple ways in which you may do so. The first would be to visit a TD Store location, during lobby hours, to speak with a Customer Service Representative. To take a look at Store locations and their hours, please visit http://go.td.com/1f9DSJR. Should you decide to visit a TD Store location, after your account is open, a Representative will be happy to have a debit card created for you, on the spot, for you to use right away!
If visiting the Store isn't convenient for you, that's okay too, as there are a couple other ways in which you may open your account. First, you may open your account using the links provided above, which will take you right to the account opening process via our website, www.tdbank.com. Another option you have is to call and speak with a Banking Specialist, 24/7, at 1-888-751-9000. Regardless of the option you choose, please be sure to have your I.D. and Social Security Number handy, as they will be needed to complete the new account application.
In addition to your options above, we're also excited to announce that we currently offer a Reloadable Prepaid Card, known as the Connect Card. This card is great if you're looking for an easy way to manage your funds as it allows you to load funds by visiting a TD Store location, transfer funds from your TD Bank account, or even have your paycheck direct deposited directly to your card. The Connect Card also comes with great flexibility, such as the ability to check your balance online, and use your card anywhere VISA is accepted. If you'd like to learn more, check out the link here: https://go.td.com/1Ez2OWI.
Should you wish to sign up for a Connect Card, we ask that you visit a TD Store location, during lobby hours. Feel free to use the link provided above to find your nearest TD Store location. So that a Connect Card may be successfully opened during your visit, please be sure to bring at least $25.00, or you may also transfer $25 from your TD Bank checking or savings account, if you already have an account. Similarly to opening a Checking or Savings account, we also ask that you bring your Social Security number and a valid ID (driver's license, passport or state-issued).
If you have any questions at all, about either opening a new account, or even about the Connect Card, please don't hesitate to contact us at the number above, and we'll be more than happy to help!
We hope that you decide to join the TD Family, Charli. Have a great day!
